9 February 2010 - AEST 8.30am  - US sharemarkets were marginally weaker after a volatile session - The Euro and commodity currencies rallied against the greenback in overnight trade - US crude oil prices edged higher as the weaker US dollar provided support for the oil price - Base metal prices rallied as bargain hunting and short covering drove prices higher - The gold price rose.
